What accent?

Okay, I've been teasing Ken for years that he has a slight accent. Usually he responds with, "Ah, spoken like a true Californian." Ha! This from the man who says "fourest" instead of forest, "owerange" for orange, and calls tennis shoes "sneakers." This leads to the conversation of language and accents being relative. Well now my friends, the proof is in the pudding (a saying I got from Ken). Notice that my results say that I "don't have an accent." Woohooo. Now read Ken's results...I like how it states that he probably thinks he doesn't have an accent. It's so rare that I am actually right in an "agrument," that I'm tickled by this validation.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."
